Gimme IP always has your current IP a click away. It will monitor your connection to see if you are connected or not and give you output through the color of its tray icon. Further more, it can save you so much time in finding problems with your network. Your DNS server is down? You'll see that. Your mail server doesn't answer? You'll know why. The help file will also explain those internet terms that you don't understand and examples on how to use Gimme IP.

Gimme IP features Internet Speed Sensors which gives you visual feedback on how your network is performing. Gimme IP also offers finger, ping, nameserver lookup and trace route clients at your fingertips.

• Constantly monitors your IP status to see if you are online or not
• Your current IP is always a double-click away!
• Full Logging of your Online/Offline state, with full date, time and IP address;
• Visual Feedback, the icon color tells you if you are connected to the internet or not. These colors can be configured.
• Ping Client. You can ping remote sites. Ping indicates two things: whether the host is responding or not, and how much time it took to get there.
• Trace Route Client. Allows you to know the route (way) all the packets take from your computer to another. This allows you to see the kind of machines your data goes through.
• Name Server Lookup Client. Finally you can easily resolve and reverse-resolves hostnames and IPs (internet address resolving is the translation of a litteral hostname - for example www.idyle.com - into its numerical IP - for example 209.43.1.54).
• Finger Client. Have friends that have a finger client. Now you can know what they are doing, if they are working, and so on. This requires a Finger Server on the remote machine.
• Internet Sensor. Graphical, visual chart that gives you the state of the connection from your place to another hosts. Extremely useful to know whether a site's connection is working and fast. It also allows you to diagnose a network problem.
• Many different types of monitoring: icmp ping, tcp connect, web site check, and real network/internet connection speed!
• Full Keyboard Shortcuts support -- Assign any of Gimme IP's features/actions to keyboard shortcuts so they accessible from anywhere with a single keystroke!
• Get full Network Adapters Details: IP, Netmask, bytes in/out, errors, unicast/broadcast, and more!
