JAVA TICKER APPLET is the perfect browser embedded tool you can enhance your site by showing news and/or stock market quotes in a scrolling ticker tape that you can customize in any way. This ticker can function either as a news ticker or as quotes ticker. By changing an HTML parameter you can make it show either news or stock quotes.

DATA SOURCE: the applet gets data from scripts placed on the same server. We offer 2 free fully functional PHP scripts for quotes and news:

quotes script reads data from Yahoo Financial section. Quote data is 15 minutes delayed.

news script can parse any rss feed and provide the data to the applet. To set a specific RSS feed you just need to edit the first line in the script.

Ticker Features

permanent connection to the data feed: the applet connects to an URL to get data at repetitive periods; you can set how long to wait between two consecutive calls;

customizable colors, fonts and sizes: colors and speed can be set from applet parameters; the fonts are limited to JVM set; width and height also are configurable. For a real feeling of what you can change, please try our online customizer;

border: you can set border color and width, or you can use no border;

speed rotation and orientation: you can set rotation speed and rotation from applet parameters. Optionally, you can show direction button at the right size of the ticker.

online customizer: customize parameters of this applet and generate HTML code online;

title section: ticker can show a still title label with custom font and colors at the left side of the ticker. Also this area can be clicked and browser opened with a link that is set from applet parameters.

SPECIAL FEATURES FOR QUOTES VERSION [DEMO]

trend icons: along with the fields for the quotes version of the ticker you can show trend icons, by setting url of images for up/down/stay trends;

text messages: you can add text messages mixed along symbols. For example you can enter delimiter messages for stock indices like NASDAQ, S&P 500, Dow Jones etc;

customizable fields: you can select what quote fields to display (like last, change, ask, bid, etc);

symbol link: you can show symbols as links that users can click. Default link is symbol's page from Yahoo Financial section. Link for this can be set.

sample data scripts: we provide the following sample data scripts:

o yahoo.php - grabs quotes from Yahoo Financial section (http://finance.yahoo.com/). Requires allow_url_fopen php setting to be enabled.

o yahoo-curl.php - grabs quotes from Yahoo Financial section (http://finance.yahoo.com/) using CURL library. To be used when allow_url_fopen is disabled.

o yahoo.asp - grabs quotes from Yahoo Financial section (http://finance.yahoo.com/). Script for sites that use ASP instead of PHP.
